“A study from the Pew Research Centre found that the internet is now the third most popular source for news among Americans, behind local and national television and ahead of radio, and local and national newspapers. Among online users the most popular news subject was the weather.” –The Economist
The Pew Research findings indicate that the internet is actually the third most popular news source among Americans. Local and national television are still the leaders. It appears that although American society immerses itself in Internet media, it still embraces television as its main source of news. The Pew Center research may just be a representation of the American population as a totality, not a particular demographic. I suspect America’s young adult population draws most of its news from the Internet, as compared to senior citizens who probably consume more television or print media.
