Nikkei Paywall and Link Restrictions

Nikkei, the largest Japanese business newspaper, now has a paywall and restricts links to its new Web site.

Any links to the site require a written application and the NY Times reports, “In addition, regular readers of the site will also notice that the paper has disabled the ability to right-click — which usually brings up a menu including “copy link address.””

I however, was able to right-click and copy the link location.

Sometime next year, The NY Times will join the trend of paywalls. And Robert Murdoch reportedly said that his news organizations will not feature free content.

It appears we are heading toward the direction of  paywalls – but information likes to be free.
